ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: The Quesnel and District Museum was
established in 1963, although active collections of
artifacts and archives date from 1951, when the Cariboo
Historical Society, Quesnel Branch was incorporated. The
society was committed to acquiring and preserving the early
history of the Cariboo and its collections formed the
foundation of the museum's holdings. In 1995, the museum
was renamed the Quesnel and District Museum and Archives.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The collection consists of incoming and outgoing
correspondence of various Chinese people in Quesnel and
area, along with accounts payable and receivable records and
a business licence.
