Dr. Roberta Lynn Bondar, Canada's First Woman Astronaut

Description: Dr.Roberta Bondar was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. In 2002 Dr. Bondar donated material related to her career with the Canadian Astronaut Program to the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library Archives. Dr. Bondar became the first Canadian woman in space with her flight aboard the space shuttle Discovery in 1992. Since leaving the space program Dr. Bondar has pursued other career goals including writing several books and photography.
