Description: In 1604, a group of settlers founded a French settlement in the Bay of Fundy. Over the following century and a half, the French explored much of eastern North America, including the territory which would come to be known as Ontario. “French Ontario in the 17th and 18th Centuries” commemorates four centuries of French presence on the Continent.
